AquaTerra Acquires Subsea Engineering and Technical Services

AquaTerra acquires the trade and assets of Subsea Engineering and Technical Services.

We are delighted to announce that on Friday 7th February 2020, AquaTerra acquired the trade and assets of Subsea Engineering and Technical Services (SETS), an established business providing innovative subsea engineering services to the offshore oil and gas industry in the UK and internationally.

Focussed primarily on conductor integrity and management solutions, SETS has invested heavily, and has been at the forefront of the design and development of technically advanced subsea tooling for conductor cleaning and inspection, clamp repair and shim installation. Their technology is remotely operated from topside, eliminating the requirement for diver support, and dramatically reducing time and cost.

SETS also designs and supplies bespoke steel and polyurethane shims for topside and subsea installations in conjunction with their tooling.

AquaTerra specialises in technically challenging construction and decommissioning projects, including caisson and conductor IRM, removal and replacement; we are currently involved in the removal and repair of more than 40 conductors and caissons in the North Sea. With our rigging and lifting expertise, access systems, and a full engineering, fabrication and offshore construction capability, AquaTerra is recognised by clients for innovative solutions and a problem-solving approach.

The strategic integration of SETS within AquaTerra represents a major service development, allowing us to offer comprehensive, single source, conductor and caisson intervention services above and below the waterline. This enhanced capability will deliver substantial benefits and added value for our clients, including cost efficient, early engagement for assessment and condition monitoring to minimise asset downtime and maximise operational efficiency.

We are committed to further strategic investment in our tooling over the next two years, to develop additional innovations including cutting and subsea composite wrapping of conductors, caissons and risers.

This latest enhancement to our capability is extremely exciting for the team at AquaTerra, as we continue to develop and launch new services and products as part of our continuous improvement programme. We will update you as these come to market but, in the meantime, if you would like to know more about AquaTerra’s caisson and conductor capabilities, or our engineering and construction services generally, please do not hesitate to contact me or our Business Development Director.

Thank you for your continued support and goodwill. We look forward to working with you through 2020 and beyond.
